This book served to confuse rather than clarify. It is written in a disjointed manner, with quick changes of focus almost bordering on stream of consciousness. - 1.0 out of 5 stars from A Guest -- Misses the target : I haven't fully read the book but the mis-spelling of the Rubicon (with an 'a') on a map, a clunkily written prologue and poor illustrations suggest that this is a shoddy piece of work. Subsequent to my initial review I have since spotted an equally shocking error on the same amateurish map: the Tiber spelled with an 'o'. Also, having now read more of the book, the clunkiness of the writing and the jerky narrative really begin to jar. The author may be a good editor but here at least he is no writer.
